I am always fascinated with the diversity and uniqueness yet amazing culture of other Asian countries. As I have friends from different nationalities and ethnicity, to experience their way of life is very fulfilling. Here in Cebu, I have a fair chance to try the taste of their culture? through food. This time, I will be sharing to you the taste of Thailand and Vietnam through Lemon Grass Restaurant at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.
Lemon Grass Vietnam ? Thailand Restaurant
The interior of the place is so Asian: water fountain, religious relics and artifacts like the prominent statues at the entrance door, chairs, tables, wooden carvings on the wall, and the ambiance. But, I usually stay outside to enjoy the presence of passers-by while I also enjoy the cool night breeze at the Terraces. Service crews, especially the waiters and waitresses are in Thai-inspired uniforms made out of silk and that sash? so Asian.

I have been at the Lemon Grass for many times and I am already aware that Thai has spicy, chill hot food. They serve food with chili and red pepper, either crashed or thrown in the platter whole. They also have peanuts as an ingredient in the menu, and of course, green vegetables which I love? and tofu.
Now, the disadvantage of staying outside is getting the attention of any waiter or waitress available, most especially when the inside is full-packed. But I still manage to wave a hand to one of them as they know I feature their services on the website. (How I love this blogging hobby!)
The menu (and don?t worry? it?s in English)

When I go visit a restaurant, I always have my ?the usual order? meal. Here at Lemon Grass, I have mine, a trio: a milk tea drink, an appetizer of tofu goodness, and a main course of noodles, shrimp and scrambled eggs. Here they are:
If you are familiar with how lemon grass tastes and smells like, it?s evident in their version of milk tea. I love this! So refreshing.
Fried tofu bean curd with greens in sweet, garlic sauce! Ahhh~ Heavenly goodness. If I will be a vegan, I can have these babies all the time!
Scrambled eggs, shrimp, peanuts, noodles, lemon, and green? and chili spicy! Pad Thai! I am so in love with this food. Thanks to my friends from Thailand for introducing Pad Thai!
The food is distinctively Asian, particularly influenced Thai. I was able to say that because I have no experiences with pure Vietnamese food (unless I have tried one before and I have no idea it was Vietnamese). The ingredients are fresh and they taste good too. And I love how the Lemon Grass milk tea tastes and smell. The tangy, minty and cool feeling as you sip or gulp it in. It is so amazing.
The Fried tofu bean curd is amazing as well. With its sauce and green veggies, this is going to be one of the reasons why I can be a vegetarian someday. In contrary, the Pad Thai is world famous. The noodles are still firm and the shrimp is to die for (I am not allergic to seafood but yeah, they are to die for!) What shocked me? Peanuts in almost all Thai food! And chili!
Overall, food is good!
