Question by MountainChick: Need to I homeschool because he?s shy?
My son will be almost six by the time he enters kindergarten. He will much more than probable be studying, creating and carrying out math at a 2nd grade degree. (He?s effectively into 1st grade now.) I am a school instructor by trade (before I was a mom), and I am open to the notion of homeschooling.
The trouble is that my son is quite shy and will take a extended time to transition to new scenarios. He?s in no way been to preschool and previously hates the concept of going to school. He even cries at the idea. (I?m a instructor, so certainly I?ve talked lots about college and how exciting it is. We?ve even visited numerous!) I want to do the proper thing for him. Would it be far better to maintain him residence a couple of far more a long time and let him turn into much more social at his own pace? Or would I be making factors worse by retaining him out of the ?system? and producing him transition at a time when all the other children are used to it? (We?ve determined we don?t want to homeschool previous 8th grade if we did it.)
The other dilemma is that we are in the procedure of moving. Our residence is up for sale and we haven?t bought a new one particular but. I never want to enroll him in a local college or preschool and get him employed to that and then select him up and move him. He?s really slow to make pals, but when he does, he doesn?t want to leave them.
